Assemblies are not just confined to prayers and hymns, but encapsulate the national and international news, sports news and ‘Thought for the day’. The attempt is to enlighten the learners about the happenings in the world and encourage them to take proactive steps to address day-to-day challenges in their journey towards future. International Peace Day is on the 21st September every year .It is a chance for the whole world to focus on what peace means and to see the phenomenal impact just one day of peace can bring to millions of lives. To mark this occasion on 18th of September’ 2015, Grade II-A conducted an assembly on the same theme . The assembly started with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra followed by a) Thought of the Day – “Inner peace begins the moment, you choose not to allow another person or event to control your emotions.” b) National news, c) International News, d) Sports News. Through a simple presentation, students of Grade II-A made everybody reassured that at MRIS-51, we strive for peace all the time. We focus on respect, kindness, teamwork and equality; we also explore the negative forces in life which lead to unhappiness and conflict-anger, selfishness, bullying, disrespect. At last, the Vice Principal, Ms Pooja Puri appreciated the effort taken by the students She also asserted the importance of peace in everyone’s life. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
