Learning by doing is the best way to learn anything. Under the theme ‘All about me, My Family and My community’ an activity ‘Making outline of body’ using blocks and beads was planned for the students of KG to develop students’ interpersonal and intrapersonal skills wherein students were divided in groups of four to five. Students enjoyed singing the rhyme ‘Head Shoulder knees and toes’ while doing this activity and developed team building skills.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know…. The more that you learn, the more places you will go “ - Dr. Seuss Reading is an adventure that never ends and a book is a gift which you can open again and again. To inculcate the habit of reading among students, Manav Rachna International School, Sec-51, Gurugram conducted a Reading Activity for the young learners of the school. Teachers of Kindergarten encouraged their children to read more and more – as it widens up their vision and gives them exposure to the beautiful world around them. Apart from reading a book, other things were also being taken care of, which include handling a book carefully, flipping the pages softly, and reading the text from left to right and top to bottom. Children were really excited to participate in this group activity and showcased their reading talents confidently. They were happy to add on to their vocabulary and develop their imagination.
At Manav Rachna, we believe that it is imperative to teach our children to be independent and responsible. It not only helps boost their confidence, but also aids in building self-esteem as they can contribute to household chores in their own little way. This week, the Early Years children of MRIS 21C Faridabad learnt the skill of folding clothes during the Skill Smart session. The teacher demonstrated the correct way of folding clothes, after which the children were given T-shirts, shorts, frocks to fold; which they did brilliantly. This is a great activity for increasing finger dexterity and concentration, besides the aforementioned benefits. This laundry chore for kids is just one of the many ways of encouraging them to become more independent.
The school organized an activity ‘Put the ball in the hole’ for students of KG. The students enjoyed the activity and it helped them to develop their concentration, patience, focus and hand-eye coordination. It was a treat to see students trying different techniques to do this activity.
Theme ‘On The Move’ made the little toddlers busy playing with transport toys for long hours Manav Rachna International School, Sec-51, Gurugram. Right from whistling of train to preparing clay roads for buses, children enjoyed and learnt about their surroundings through pretend play. They loved exploring transportation and at the same time, its concepts. Hands-on training provided them with clear approach to transportation and its various means.
